Real Jobs, Told Straight

Every story here is a real job Keven Hopkins did for a real Lane County client, based on their own Google review. The problem, the fix, and what happened — no stock photos, no invented projects.

Bathroom Remodel · Eugene

A full shower replacement, finished before the guests showed up

The problem: A Eugene family needed their bathroom completely redone — and out-of-town family was arriving on a hard date. No slip room in the schedule, no "we'll get to it next week."

What Keven did: Keven planned the tear-out, tile, and shower replacement around the deadline and worked the schedule backward from it. Every step was sequenced so drying time didn't eat the calendar.

The result: The bathroom was done before the parents arrived — with time to spare. The client's words: "did such a fabulous job... went above and beyond." It's now one of the most-requested jobs on the site: a shower replacement with a real schedule you can plan your life around.

Mobile Welding · Lane County

The generator exhaust two shops wouldn't touch

The problem: A camper's Generac generator had its exhaust pipe torn off. Two repair shops looked at it and said the same thing: the generator has to come out, haul it to us. That means days without the camper and a shop bill on top.

What Keven did: Keven welded the exhaust pipe back in place — on site, without removing the generator. The kind of job that's "impossible" until someone actually tries it.

The result: It's still running strong, years later. The client reported it after two other shops said it couldn't be done without removal. This is what mobile welding across Lane County is for: the repair that isn't worth a shop's minimum charge, but is worth doing right.

The stuck crawl-space door that was holding up a house sale

The problem: A home inspection had flagged a stuck crawl-space door, and a house sale was sitting on the result. The fix turned out to be anything but simple — the door wasn't the problem, it was the symptom.

What Keven did: Keven traced the actual cause and did the repair the complicated way: correctly. No shortcut that would fail the next inspection.

The result: "Kevin was a lifesaver," the seller wrote afterward. Sale back on track. It's the kind of job that never makes a portfolio photo but makes the difference between closing and not closing.

Food Cart · Lane County

A new food cart, finished detail by detail

The problem: A brand-new food cart needed finishing and maintenance work before it could earn: structural details, trim, hookups, the hundred small jobs between "built" and "open for business."

What Keven did: Keven worked through the punch list with the owners — structural reinforcement, custom trim, plumbing hookups, panel mounting — treating a mobile kitchen like the working machine it is.

The result: "Exceptional professionalism and strong attention to detail... from start to finish." The cart went from construction site to service. Food cart work is now one of KevHop's signature services — hardly anyone else in Lane County does it.

Outdoor Carpentry · Springfield

A pergola, then a fence, then two gates — all matching

The problem: The client wanted a pergola extension on their existing deck that didn't look bolted on. Then, impressed, they wanted the fence and two gates replaced the same way.

What Keven did: Matching lumber, matching style, matching the weathering — the carpentry that makes new work look like it was always there.

The result: "Swift, efficient, and extremely detailed. The finished product is art." Then they hired him again. That's the standard for every outdoor structure KevHop builds in Lane County.
